This boat is made by a teenager. It’s one of many made by "ungdomarnas" – young boat builders, kids that don’t go into athletics or the chess club. There’s a man in Stockholm that coaches the kids. Each boats takes 1000 to 3000 hours to build. He bought an old Swedish Navy boat and outfitted it with machine and woodworking tools. The kids come there on weekends and holidays for about a year or two.

The teenagers build everything. They cut and sew the sails. They use metal working tools for any (few) metal parts. The cut all the wood. They do all the finishing.
